CHRISTMAS PARTY
On December 4th. at 6:30 P.M. we will be having our Christmas Dinner at Georgian Downs Racetrack.
The cost is $34 per person ( this includes race program, soft drinks and gratuities) with a buffet meal being served.
The racetrack has asked that we pay for this event by Nov. 27th.
We therefore need to know who will be attending and request payment to be dropped off at Adam & Eve Tanning or simply bring it to our next meeting at the Fork & Plate on Nov. 20th.
Non the less we need to know how many are coming so we can let the track know so they will be prepared.
Please email me back with your yea or nay (except those who have already informed me) and how many and we will let Georgian Downs know.
Christmas is such a festive season and a time to share good will and peace toward men.
Please, if you have missed many meetings of the ABA, this is a great time to hook up and meet some of the other businesses that share your community and to make strong, lasting friendships that hopefully carry us into a prosperous and healthy future together.
Remember the future is bright!
OTHER NEWS
Welcome to our new members. The meal at the Earl of Alcona was outstanding and we will be having many of our meetings there. Thanks Bill and Lois for doing such an exceptional job and making us feel very welcome. Wow that was some Prime Rib!!! To those who were unable to attend please note we will be having our Christmas Dinner either Nov. 20th or Dec. 4th. Please keep these two dates available as we will be meeting both of these dates regardless of which one is our Christmas Dinner. You'll note we are doing the Valentine's Dance again this year.....Feb. 9th is the date. $15 per person. Invite your friends and family early this year. Our fall garage sale generated $600 which will offset the cost of our $800 insurance to hold such events. Also Rod Boynton gave me a mini update as to the time lines for the rec centre, arenas and admin building. I read it to the ABA members last night and it is included in our minutes for your perusal. Thanks Rod. Also he mentioned the start of the work on Innisfil Beach Rd. In 2009 they will begin doing the road from the 25th. Side Road to St. John's Rd. I believe he also said (to me in person) they will begin burying all the hydro and phone lines next year.

FYI
We grew to 42 members this last term and the town acknowledged it was largely because of the ABA that they have moved forward ahead of schedule with the completion of our downtown area. The new design is beautiful and the PDF of the Urban Guideline Study for our downtown is available on the town's website for your perusal.
2007 PITCH-IN DAY IN INNISFIL
- The Town was a buzz of activity. We were wearing our new shirts with ABA logo and had a picture in the Scope.
- We cleaned Crystal Beach Road and Innisfil Beach Road from TD bank towards ScotiaBank. Amazing day.
2007 ALCONA'S LARGEST GARAGE SALE
Greetings to all our members!
Just a couple of notes to keep you informed of recent developments and happenings in the ABA. The garage sale was a huge success. Thanks to our members who contributed their time and money to make this endeavour a successful one. Everyone involved had nothing but positive comments to make. The only thing people wanted it to start earlier. At any rate, early or later, people came together and were able to unload items that served no further purpose for them yet were needful to others. Isn't that what community is all about. This will probably become an Annual event to raise funds for needful projects.
The ABA should be very proud of itself for the recent impact it has made on the town. The town has openly acknowledged the ABA's efforts in causing them to sit up and take note with regard to our downtown area being developed and carried forward expeditiously. We also have Rod Boynton to thank for spearheading this amongst the councillors, as well as the community.
We are very thankful that our efforts are starting to pay off. We are gaining ground as the ABA. We now need to focus on not losing the ground we have gained. Now is not the time to become complacent. We collectively as the ABA are strong. Please do not think we have arrived. We haven't. We can accomplish so much more together than individually. If you aren't happy with some aspect of the town then come out to the meetings and let's collectively do something about it.

2007 GENERAL ELECTION MEETING
We had our A.G.M., May 15th 2007, at the Lakeshore Library which included our yearly elections. The following is the new executive team for the ABA.
